Shopping for saris

i need a sari! Of course I don’t but as I am in India. I can’t resist . We went this week,  me and a friend of mine Maria, to buy one. Of course we ended up with two, could easily have been a lot more. So many colours, so many fabrics. They are pulled out of the packaging so that you can see properly, in particular what it looks like on. The patterns are different on different parts of the sari, such as the shoulder, the  front pleats and the blouse may be a contrasting colour – a complicated business. We were told that it is very important that you choose the right colour otherwise it will destroy your personality. Lucky for us we had that same advisor Virat with us to help is through the maze of options whilst keeping our personalities intact. Poor Virat, his friends were laughing when he told them that he was taking  the two of is sarI shopping.

The plan is to debut them somewhere nice next week, which is my last week here 😦 The blouses need to be made, the saris finished off etc.  which takes a few days. There is also the slight problem that neither of us know how to put one on. I will let you know how we get on next week.
